the week

You're never really around during the week anymore so I made plans to see them tonight.

What does 'the week' refer to, weekdays only or the whole week (7 days)?

Thanks in advance!

I would say it refers to weekdays. If it referred to all seven days of the week, you could just say "you're never really around anymore".
