Grammar

the way of doing sth.

Can you tell me which prep. I should put after way, of doing or to do?

Example:

  • What is the better way to clean it? What is the better way of cleaning it?

  • Is there a better way to clean it? Is there a better way of cleaning it?

  • How many ways to clean it do you have? How many ways of cleaning it do you have?

  • I don't like his own way to clean this? I don't like his own way of cleaing this?
And how about 'method', of doing or to do I should choose?

Thanks

his own way ...

Frequently, either one will do just fine, except that I would not use the infinitive after a possessive: *my way to ..., *your way to ..., *Henry's way to ..., etc.

better way [to clean / of cleaning]
many ways [to clean / of cleaning]

his way of cleaning (probably not to clean fo
