Grammar

The way "oblivious" is used

cubicles even make people behave badly

the reason seems to be that cubicles mask the social cues such as facial expressions and body language that influence social interacitons

they thus make it easier to eat a smelly luch or guffaw on the phone, oblivious to the reactions of those nearby.

Hi all
I am confused of the grammar here.
Why there is a comma in front of "oblivious"?
Is it the omission of make it easier to be oblivious to blabla?
Sorry I even don't know how to ask this question.
I hope I have made it clear.

Singradisa shauna Why there is a comma in front of "oblivious"? It's not strictly necessary in my opinion, but it seems that without it the phrase with 'oblivious' might be taken to apply only to the guffaws on the phone, not to both the smelly lunch and the guffaws. CJ
