The way

While we can train our consciousness, it's always important to do this with kindness and gentleness, not expecting ourselves to do what we're not ready to do. We don't force. We practice with the understanding that happiness is the way, not with a sense that we have to struggle against our habit energies.

In this paragragh, what could be this 'the way?' Shouldn't it be like the way of (?)? I mean there should be something after 'the way'?

Any comments will be appreciated.

Dear Mariott In religious writing, "the way" is used, on its own, to mean the way that believers must follow It does not have anything after it - it just is "the way" In Christian writing also you will find it exactly as that: "I am the way" In the dictionary it is "the correct or desired path" Regards, Dave
