(The) water

Hey there!

"We've just built a swimming pool. But where is the water going to come from?"
"We've just built a swimming pool. Now we need to find water for it."

I included the definite article "the" in my first example (it's the water that's going to be in the pool), but skipped it in the second (we need to find some water - unspecified). Am I right or wrong?
