THE vs. zero article (before Bible vs. God)

Why is it orrect to write: "We believe in God"
without any article (with zero article before God)
but "the Bible" with definite article before?

If it cannot be explained then what is mnemonics to memorize such distinctions?

While there are some rules governing the use of "the" with proper nouns, no rule alone will always be of help when deciding whether to use "the" with a particular noun. The best way to learn is to commit to memory all those nouns that take "the" and those that don't. For example, you will say "Mount Everest" but "the Matterhorn".

  • The rule says that individual mountains (unlike mountain chains) take no article but, as you can see, there are exceptions.
  • It's interesting to note that the Devil, unlike ***, takes "the".

why? because when you use "the" before ***, it will generally mean that there is only one *** stated in the bible. theres so many GODs in the bible, The "Father" the creator is ***, who is "the" most powerful, ( I use "the" because it is General, no one can be more powerful than the "Father" ) . Jesus Christ is also a ***, because he is the only begotten Son, and they are not only two Gods st
