"THE" vs. "A" and "Singular" vs. "Plural"

Hi. Please help me write the definition of "ear". Would somebody answer my 3 questions?

1) "Ears are the two parts of your/the/a head."
Is this sentence correct? Which is more appropriate to use "your", "the" or "a"? Is there any difference?2) "Ears are part of the head."
Is this sentence correct? If so, why would you use "part" without "a" ? And why would you use singular form "part" though the subject "ears" is plural?

3) Would it be possible in English usage to use "face" instead of "head" like "Ears are part of the face" ?

Hope your reply. Any replies are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
