The vs. a

a. There was a fire on a street where I live.
b. There was a fire on the street where I live.

Is there a difference between the meanings of these sentences?

Many thanks.

(b) would be usual. This is because "where I live" makes "street" specific, so the definite article is appropriate. I can't really imagine that I would ever use (a).
