The verb 'decide'

Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering why 'decide' isn't classed as a stative verb.
You can't necessarily see it.

Miss wondering.
Emotion: thinking

Top answer

Because the process of making a decision is an active one, involving weighing the options, deliberating them, and finally making a choice. It is as active a mental process as the physical process of moving from point A to point B. "Stative" means fixed at one state or point.
