The use of "wrung out"...

Does the use of “wrung out” and “depleted” seem natural to you? The writer is talking about his long, bad experience in some adventure. He was more emotionally upset and mentally exhausted than physically tired.

At the end of the day, I was completely wrung out and depleted.

Thanks,

Tom

Maybe, "wrung out " and " exhausted", "drained" .....perhaps.
