The use of "why"

Is is correct to write: "This is not correct, why I add that ..."?

Ok. The full sentence is: "The above is not finite, why I add the constraint that the vector be |v|=1."

The use of why here means therefore. I.e.:

"The above is not finite, therefore I add the constraint that..."

I thought why was alright here, but maybe it isn't.

It is indeed not all right. You can do it any of these ways, however:

The above is not finite: that is why I add the constraint that the vector be |v|=1.
The above is not finite, so I add the constraint that the vector be |v|=1.
The above is not finite; therefore I add the constraint that the vector be |v|=1.
