The use of 'Which~better' or 'Do you think~better'

Which sentence is more grammatically natural,

1. Which do you think it is better for people to eat at restaurants than at home?

2. Do you think it is better for people to eat at restaurants or at home?

(The exam takers should choose one from the two options (eat at restaurants OR eat at home) and explain why it is better)

The sentence No. 2 was found in a certain English language exam in Japan. In my opinion, the word "which" should be used in the sentence like No.1 because it asks one choice from two things. That's why, I guess, the answer to the No. 2 may be answered by exam takers like 'I agree' or 'I disagree', so it is grammatically incorrect for asking a choice.

I gladly would like to ask you whether my opinion is true or both of them can be answered in the same way.
