The use of "very out"

Hi

Does the use of “very  out” sound OK to native ears?

[said by a photographer during a shot]

No, John, you are very out; move in please.

Thanks,

Tom

It doesn't sound natural to me, but "too far out" does.

Thanks, Philip!

What about "far too out"? Does it work?

No, John, you are far too out -- move in please.

You are very out in that context sounds natural to me, precisely because it seems typical of the slightly awkward things we say a lot.

I think we often give learners here the impression that we all speak close to perfect English all the time. In my opinion, we don't.
