The use of THE in this particular case,, highly unclear
Hello,
Do you need "the" in this case?
Companies are likely to accept investments stemming from their governance efforts.
Companies are likely to accept the investments stemming their governance efforts.
If we are not referring to particular invetments, do we need THE here? I am confused becuase "investments" refers to "investments stemming from something." So I am thinking "the" is needed because it is mentioning specific type of investment. On the other hand, this sentence is a general one because it is saying that companies GENERALLY accpet investments stemming from somthing. So I am thinking no "the" is required.
What do you think?

I like candies from Hershey.
Do I have to say I like THE candies from Hershey? Because it is specific?
Or because this is general so I can just say I like candies from hershey?
Thanks.
