The use of "the"

Hi good evening,
My question is if is it okay to use the definite article "the" while describing fruit and vegetable in a photograph.
eg. I can see in the photograph the carrots, the onions, the oranges, and the apricots.

Thank you in advance

Hi, Only use eg ' the onions' if the listener is already aware of the onions, perhaps because you have already mentioned them, or perhaps because he has already seen the photograph. Otherwise, say eg 'some onions'. Clive
