The use of "spoil"

Hi

Can we use the word "spoil" this way?

(Any other suggestions are welcome.)

The rubber is spoiling in the sun.

If you keep the chutney out of the fridge, it'll definitely spoil.

Does water spoil if kept unrefrigerated for very long?
