The use of 'should'

Hello,

What is the function of 'should' in these two sentences?

I am very glad that she should want to go out and amuse herself.
After all it was very natural that he should like to play about with Roger.
I should hate to see you let down now.
(From Somerset Maugham's Theatre)

Thanks
