The use of "more"

observe these 2 sentences

Please play one more tune.

Please play one tune more.

I'd like to know which is grammatically right and which is naturally right, as to more people say it than the other one.

I'm befuddled by the use of "more" since they both seem right but their seems to be some sort error with one of them

thanx guys

If you want to remember just one general rule, put the "more" before the noun, because there are some situations where "more" can only go first, even though both of your examples are fine. I think "more" after the noun requires a number in the noun phrase, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else has more information on this.

Great one general rule, Jim. Japanese ESLs, almost certainly due to first language interference, often place 'more' in inappropriate positions.

ok guys, this is my own analysis, and i think it makes sense

[Please] [play]>[{one} {more} {tune}].
[interj]->[intra determ > adj > obj]
verb

---some dictionaries say more can be an adjective?

[Please] [play]> [{one} {tune}] [more].
[interj]->[intra determ obj adv]
verb

There's no doubt about it, Guest, that can SOMETIMES occupy both positions. The kicker is that some collocations are simply unidiomatic.

What defines those differences; can't say at the moment. ****, might not be able to say given a month of Sundays of solid thinking. Such is the complex nature of language.

the sleeping baby - ok

the running man - not ok in the no
