The use of placed and misplaced

Hi

Do you find these sentences correct and natural, especially the use of placed and misplaced? Any suggestions are welcome.

Do you think his doubts are placed?
No, I don't think so. His doubts are poorly misplaced.

Do you think his doubts are misplaced? [No need for 'poorly', as something that is 'misplaced' is 'poorly placed'.]

[I'm not sure that "misplaced" is the best word here, to begin with. Perhaps 'unnecessary', 'illegitimate' or 'unfounded' would be better.]
