Welcome to Englsihforums. The sentence is fine grammatically. I do wonder if the meaning is as you intend.

i am working on a small story piece, she hates her husband for running off, but at least the house is fully paid. Since I need to give some poetical sense to the piece, I used paid for for its sound instead of fully paid. What's your opinion on this?

Paid for is good. It is commonly used in the UK and a lot more in keeping with the context.
