The use of "overflowing gutters"

Hi

In Pakistan we commonly use the term "overflow" with channels and gutters. Is it common among native speakers?

The gutters in the street overflowed after the rain.

I have also seen the word boil with gutters. Is it OK, too?

The gutters boiled after the rain.
