The use of no longer

Hi

Could you please tell me if the use of "no longer" is OK here?

I could be patient no longer.

Thanks,

Tom

It's correct but kind of unusual. I would refrain from using it in everyday situations.

Hi Tom

In everyday English, if "no longer" is used, I'd say it tends to be mid-sentence. For example:

- They can no longer afford to put off making that tough decision.
