The use of "Next to" and ""Near by"

Just wondering are their uses are basically same ??

The fountain are near by my house.
The fountain are next to my house.

The fountain is near my house = The fountain is nearby. The fountain is next to my house. -- This is a much nearer fountain than the above fountains.
