The use of "live" as a plural

Hi, I have a question regarding the use of "life" as a plural form in the below sentence.

"Most graduates talk fondly about their lives on campus."

Did I use this correctly? Similarly, can I use "life" as a singular form in the same sentence?

"Most graduates talk fondly about their life on campus."

Thank you for your help!

Use the one that seems less ambiguous. I think I would use 'life' here, to avoid the red herring of schizophrenia.
