Can I use "formed up" in the sense of "ready"?

Hi, Tom. I don't hear it used this way.

We say casually, "How's everything shaping up?"
"How's the project shaping up?"

We wouldn't say, "Is everything all shaped up?"

We might say, "Is everything ship-shape?" but it wouldn't necessarily refer to a particular endeavor. If

However you could possibly say "firmed up" to ask, for example, whether plans have been finalized / are now definite.
