It depends.

My wife and I went out for dinner

He had a grudge against my wife and me/me and my wife.

I don't think people ever say "I and my wife". Only "my wife and I" is natural, IMO.

Dear friend,

if the pronoun is part of a subject, I should be used:

My wife and I will be there.

if the pronoun is not a subject, as in

I hope that you will visit my wife and me in the near future.

me should be used. People often make mistakes when the pronoun does not immediately follow the verb or prepositio

Dear friend,

just a correction:

But

1. It is I, Ivan.

2. The people accused of stealing the painting were Mark, John and I.

In both cases 'I' is part of the subject, right?

1. It is I, Ivan.

People say

It's me

Or

This is me

Rarely will you hear someone say "this is I", maybe from a robot, lol

COCA seems to be in agreement with my observation (based purely on personal experience).

In the first case, I is a subject complement, and so it is in the second instance.

The first sentence is perfectly correct grammatically - the prescriptive grammar tradition stipulates the subjective case form of the pronoun. However, the objective form (It's me) is normally felt to be the natural one, particularly in informal style:

It was he. -
