The Use of 'as such'

According to what I have found on English grammar websites, it seems that 'as such' can be a source of problem even for native speakers. In short, I'm confused about its use.

Is it in the place where it should be in the following sentence?

"...this is one of the reasons why we cannot consider him a novelist, as such."

I want to say that he cannot be considered a novelist according to the inherent meaning of the word (or his work does not have all the features of a novel).

Thanks in advance.

Nikoo ... this is one of the reasons why we cannot consider him a novelist, as such. Hi, Apart from this as such issue you're having, the underlined part seems a bit wordy to me, and I would, therefore, recast the fragment.

  • Nikoo ...
  • this is one of the reasons why we cannot consider him a novelist, as such.
  • Hi, Apart from this as such issue you're having, the underlined part seems a bit wordy to me, and I would, therefore, recast the fragment.
  • and we, therefore, cannot consider him a novelist as such.
  • The use of as such here is fine.
