The usage of while.

Hello,

My question is about when to use a comma in the while sentence. Thank you.

1. He likes sports, while I like books. (While here is similsr to although)

2. Don't phone me while I'm at the office. (during a period of time)

I guess that a comma shoud be put when while means although.

You're using the comma properly. If you say the sentence out loud, I bet you'll find yourself naturally breaking after 'sports'.

Maku - don't you think your picture is inappropriate for a serious website like this? Many people, myself included, find it offensive. I strongly suggest you change it if you want to be taken seriously on EnglishForward.com

I agree with Bill.
Not that I have anything against a picture like this, I have many myself, but maybe this is not the kind of place where you'd expect to see it. That's all.

I was very attached to that particular avatar, I use it on many forums. Since I'm reasonable, I've changed it to something more serious, but I don't appreciate it being brought up off topic in another member's thread. My apologies to the OP.
