The usage of to-infinitive

You can use the red triangle from any of your posts: you didn't need to create a new thread to use the triangle. Or you could have sent a PM to one or two of the other moderators explaining your problem.
• At the moment your post addressed to Julian Stuart is visible for him or any of the other moderators to see, so just be patient.

1) In the first sentence, I think 'explaining' modify 'a PM' so that a comma should be positioned before 'explaining' to avoid the misunderstanding that 'explaining' modify 'moderators'; am I right?

2) in the second sentence, Which usage is 'to see' used as - duty or result?
duty) At the moment your post addressed to Julian Stuart is visible for him or any of the other moderators that should see it.
result) At the moment your post addressed to Julian Stuart is visible for him or any of the other moderators, so they would see it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • I'm not clear on why the 'usage' must be limited to either of those.
  • Do you have a list of such 'usages'?

Sorry, but I don't work from lists and I would never have thought of 'result' or 'duty'. I just try to think of what the sentence means to me.

Mister Micawber I just try to think of what the sentence means to me.
I don't know what do you mean.

About the usage potentiality, do you, in any chance, take 'to-infinitive' for 'be to-infinitive'?
For example : Every day we are to see a variety of people in the street.
