The usage of "to"

Hi

I have question about the sentence below.

"He opens the curtain to a view of New York City."

I can't understand the usage of "to" in this sentence. So I'm having some trouble getting the exact meaning. What exactly "opens the curtain to..." refers to? And could you please paraphrase the sentence? Thanks in advance.
