The usage of tag question.

Hello,

I am confused with tag question. The man used (1) affirmative simple present tense. The woman should use negative form in response to the man’s statement? I don’t understand why the woman said “Do you” in this short conversation. However, the (2) follow the rule of tag question . It starts with affirmative sentence and end by the negative form (doesn’t it)

1. Man: I love this kind of hip-hop.

Woman: Do you?

2. The food smells good, doesn't it?

Thanks,

The woman's response is not really a normal tag. It is a more emphatic tag that might otherwise look like this: You love this kind of hip-hop, do you? This type of tag question is of a different attitude and indicates that the woman finds it a little hard to believe or she is fairly surprised.
