Hello, Clive,

Isn't 'for' better there? Or could we use either 'about' or 'for' without any difference?

Do these mean the same thing, please?

- I want to postpone this travel plan for three months.
- I want to postpone this travel plan about three months.

I want to postpone this travel plan for three months means the same as I want to postpone this travel plan three months.

I want to postpone this travel plan about three months, on the other hand, means I want to postpone this travel plan for approximately three mo

Can we omit 'for' in "I want to postpone this travel plan for approximately..."?

Thank you.

Yes, you can leave it out, but it sounds better to me with for.

However, note that about is much more common than approximately in everyday conversation. I just needed another word to explain what the sentence meant.
