The usage of "More"

Is my way of using "more" correct?

The older I get, the more I need a dictionary.

I know it's impossible to say "I need a dictionary much." But when it comes to this construction, I've seen some similar examples which are acceptable English, such as: The older I get, the more I realize how important friendship is.
