The usage of "frequency"?

Is there such saying as "He and I share the same frequency" in English?
--> He and I share many similarities.

Or "He is on a different frequency." --> He thinks differently from us.

There is such usage in my language but I'm not sure if it is the same in English.
I've checked several dictionaries. None suggests such usage. But I think I've
heard it from TV sometimes. Can anyone help?

Thanks!
