The usage of definite Article THE

Hello,

I have a question about the usage of THE in these sentences:

Let's presume that I have a photo and a dog (in a marketplace) is holding an advert in his muzzle . I want to give a title for this photograph. Which one should I choose?

1)A salesman's little helper.

2)The salesman's little helper.

And what's the difference?

Top answer

Both are possible. Probably I would tend towards the latter as it feels slightly stronger. By the way, this is incorrect spacing: 1)A salesman's little helper.

  • Both are possible.
  • Probably I would tend towards the latter as it feels slightly stronger.
  • By the way, this is incorrect spacing: 1)A salesman's little helper.
  • It should be like this: 1) A salesman's little helper.
