The usage of "about" in English

In my oral self-introduction, can I use “about”in the following way?

I know it is not acceptable in writing. But is it acceptable in informal conversation? (I'm not going to be interviewed and I just want to know the usage of "about" in English)Thanks for your help.Emotion: smile

About my hobbies, I like playing chess and listing songs.

About my strengths, I am a good thinker and quick learner.

Yes, in casual conversation, for example at a party, you could quite correctly say the above three statements (about my hobbies, etc., about my strengths, etc., and as to my family, etc.).

You could also use these in an interview if you had already completed the more serious part of the interview and the interviewer said something such as, "Now, please tell me a little bit more about wh
