The Usage of a relative pronoun

Hello everyone. I have a question.

Regarding the three sentences below:

(A) This is the thesaurus that they say is the most helpful.
(B) This is the thesaurus which they say is the most helpful.
(C) This is the thesaurus they say is the most helpful.

Could you please evaluate each of the sentences depending on whether it is natural? Can we say that they are all grammatically correct?

Top answer

They are all natural enough for me. I think Americans would avoid (B) as they don't use which in defining relative clauses very much. CB
