The true meaning of GRASPING

the true meaning of GRASPING

The sentence below comes from Krishna Dharma

Meet this transient world with neither grasping nor fear, trust the unfolding of life, and you will attain true serenity.

In this sentence I'd like to ask about the meaning of the underliend 'grasping'.

It seems to mean 'greed' in the context, but I am not sure 100%.
Do you think 'greed' is the meaning of 'grasping'?

Regards.

I don't think it's about greed. It is about the impermanence of all things. It means that holding on to (grasping) anything would be pointless and would lead to suffering.

Maybe 'greed', but consider 'desire'.

Thanks a lot as always, CJ.
Thanks a lot as always, teechr.

Desire seems even better than greed.
Come to think of it, what teechr says, 'holding on to anything', seems to suggest the same meaning.
Thanks a lot and happy new year.
