The above sentence is from a book. It reads to me a little burden. I would like to cange it like below. Please help if you have a different thought. Thanks.

Yours is not structurally right either, and it says something different. However, the original is not logical (if one pays these bills for, say, more than a few months). Are you sure the original is written out accurately?
