The ticket agent asks for Russel's passport and ticket.

The ticket agent asks for Russel's passport and ticket. Russel starts to search his pockets and asks where he put his ticket.

Does "the ticket agent" only apply to the people in airport? What are the counterparts in train and bus stations? Are there other alternatives for that term? Thanks.
