'the Thrid World' - condesceding? offensive?

Would using 'the Thrid World' to describe developing countries be perceived as condescending or even offensive to some?

I am anxious not to offend anyone.

Thanks

I think it's a reasonable well-used, objective phrase, but then I live in a first-world country.

Has anyone noticed that you typed "Thrid World" instead of "Third World"?
