"the three other students" or "the other three students"?

Before the four students received their rewards, Tom and the three other students attended a special meeting hosted by the headmaster.

Can we use "the other three students" to replace the underlined part? Thanks.

Qingqing,

Thank you very much. What you explain to me sounds reasonable. I will also thank CalifJim for his help. I have looked up several dictionaries, which all give the expressions like "three other students, some other boys ect." (the determiner is usually put before the noun), but I was not sure about whether we can say expressions like "the other three boys".
