The three boys were never identified nor were they punished yet.

Hi !Emotion: big smile

Is this clause correct grammatically please?

"The three boys were never identified nor were they punished yet."

I am talking about three boys who have burned a donkey alive, and they are still unpunished.

Should use the present perfect tense or just the simple past? And why?

Thanks a lot.
