Attendance at the meeting is optional.

What is the synonym of 'optional' here?

Is it nonobligatory? I looked 'nonobligatory' up, but I didn't find in the dictionary.

You are free to make any word you like with affixes, especially "non-". But it wants a hyphen, "non-obligatory", because it is not a known solid word, and because it looks weird without it—you read "nono" and have to backtrack. The dictionaries will not list it
