the structure of this sentence ?

Loans to be repaid over a period of one to four years are short -term loans.

I think we could have said : Loans which are repaid over ... .right ?

could you explain the usage of the infinitive in the sentence above ?

Either the original or your version is fine. I think the person writing it was trying to avoid the use of the word "you," as in "Loans you have to repay over..."

As it happens, this is an area I write about quite frequently. We DO use the personal YOU when writing to our borrowers. However, if I wanted to avoid that, I would have written "Loans with a one- to four-year repayment period ar
