The striver is thereby ennobled

aspiration implies a striving after something higher than oneself and usually implies that the striver is thereby ennobled<an aspiration to become president someday>.
pretension suggests ardent desire for recognition of accomplishment often without actual possession of the necessary ability and therefore may imply presumption<has literary pretensions>

Why would the striver be ennobled? He is simply aspiring for something.

Which of the following sentences is correct:
Why would he be ennobled?
Why would be he ennobled?

In what sense is "presumption" used above?

Please help me with the above questions. Thanks.
