The stress (comparative / comparable)

1. comparative / 2. comparable

--> the stress : 1. com'parative / 2. 'comparable

I can easily(intuitively) expect that the stress of 1 falls on the second syllable.

I applied the same rule to 2 because it looks similar to 1.

Having checked the stress in my dictionary, I was very surprised that 2 does not have the stress on the second syllable!

Do you intuitively know that the stress of 2 falls on the second syllable?

I can figure out 1 intuitively but not 2 -.-;;

Do you intuitively know that the stress of 2 falls on the first syllable?-- No, it is a rogue word that joins a few other rogue words like formidable and extraordinary - but both pronunciations are available: [komperuh-buh
