The spirit of Ozu and

The spirit of Ozu and family drama is revived in this lovely, delicate movie from the Japanese master Kore-eda: two nine-year-old brothers are forced to live apart when their parents split, taking one son each. The children plot to be reunited in a movie to melt the heart.

Ozu was a famous Japanese director.

Does 'the spirit of Ozu and family drama' imply that Ozu only made family dramas?
Could we have 'the spirit of Ozu and epic cinema' as well as 'the spirit of Ozu and family drama'?

I could understand the noun phrase if it had one element following 'of', but the fact that there are two makes it difficult for me to grasp.
'The spirit of family drama' sound fine to me and so does 'the spirit of Ozu', but 'the spirit of Ozu and family drama' is a bit difficult for me to analyze. In what way do Ozu and the family drama have one spirit?

Gratefully,
Navi.

Thank you very much Mr. Micawber for all your replies,

So we have
the spirit of "Ozu + family drama"

and we could have at the same time

the the spirit of "Ozu + epic cinema"
and
the spirit of "Ozu and the western"
(well we don't have Japanese westerns, but this is a grammatical issue)

In short, we have the spirit of a particular combination.
