The sound of a/the firetruck

When you hear a siren of a firtruck outside every few days, do you say, 1. The sound of "a" firetruck, or 2. The sound of "the" firetruck?

Thank you.

It depends. If it is a specific thing that you are mentioning then you would say 'the' example, I want to see the book. Otherwise a would be used as if you do not know what it is
