The society would benefit from a ban on all forms of advertising because it serves no useful purpose, and can even be damaging. Do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable that advertisements play a vital role in our daily life. But some people believe that these do not serve any purpose and sometimes even have detrimental effects on society. Therefore, it is thought that a comprehensive ban on adverts should be administered for the sake of everybody. From my point of view, I totally disagree with that statement.

On one hand, commercials are purposeless and harmful to consumers to a certain degree. It is easy for people to realize that our daily life is inundated with various forms of advertising, from emails, leaflets, TV commercials to radio spots, and product placements. The pumping out of them, apparently, disturb the process of work and relaxation and eventually result in several kinds of discomfort. In addition, these types of adverts sometimes use high techniques to distort and exaggerate reality in order to increase profits. As a result, it causes impulsive purchases in customers, especially young consumers.

From another perspective, a prohibition on commercial would put people at a disadvantage. In the modern world, new products with distinct and revolutionary features are come into being almost every day. And we can ignore the fact that those products would remain unknown to consumers without advertisements disseminating needed information. People, therefore, get a slice of cake from a wide range of options so that they can find the best suitable items for themselves. Furthermore, commercials force the economy to develop as they boots the consumption demand, so that can promote production and commerce. As a result, thousands of employment opportunities are created and significantly contribute to the growth of the economy. The government, therefore, can gain a considerable amount of taxes to improve the standard of living of people.

To sum up, I think that advertisements bring about more advantages than disadvantages. So, the assumption that commercials should be completely eliminated from human life is totally unreasonable.
